What we do
Networking & Professional Development
We hold regular events to bring our members and the broader community together.
Every month we hold a networking event with a speaker on various topics to help our business owners with their own professional development.
We also host a number of breakfasts throughout the year for networking and opportunity discovery.

Advocacy & Connection
As part of our mandate, we actively look to connect up businesses for new opportunities.
We also represent our members interests at Council through a number of channels, but primarily through our seats on the Economic Development Committee.
If you would like to talk to us about opportunities or issues, please get in touch. We are keen to be of service to our business community.
Support & Promotion of our members
Through a number of different initiatives we look to bring awareness and traffic to our businesses.
- Active promotion on social media and email, and activism with the Council to also support and promote our businesses as part of the Artisan Hills program.
- Listing on our website and directory to help with discovery online.
- The Open Studios program for our artists community
- The Open Cellars program for our wine makers
- Active connection to other events in the area such as the Small Business Festival and the Open Farm Day.
Structure and governance
Nillumbik Tourism and Business is a not-for-profit organisation, incorporated under the Associations Incorporation Reform Act 2012, and operated in accordance with the Model Rules of that body. NTB runs an effective program of support, promotion, learning and advocacy for all our members. We aim to be the ‘go-to’ organisation for business networking and professional development for all business owners in Nillumbik. For members involved in tourism we also aim to assist in promoting the region to be a premier visitor destination to help grow the local economy.
We are an active group of volunteers managing the programs and grants that fund our activities. Community volunteers are the backbone needed to run an effective program of support, promotion, learning and advocacy for our members.
We have a volunteer Board that meets monthly, with three sub-committees running focussed programs under this umbrella group.
If you are interested in knowing more you can read our Rules of Association (Model Rules) or come along to any Board or sub-committee meeting, or join any of the networking events as a visitor, to meet with other members. Please feel free to get in touch with us to talk and ask any questions, as we are always happy to welcome new businesses into our fold.
