The role of time out, broken comfort zones and challenges

timeout-NTB.png

This month at the Nillumbik Tourism & Business Networking event, we are doing something a little different.

Story telling.

We have invited two of our own members to come and talk about recent personal journeys that have challenged them as women, made them question their life and ultimately resulted in re-invigoration for both their soul and business life.

In June this year, Blaise van Hecke walked 800 kms from one side of Spain to the other on the Camino Santiago Pilgrims Trail. She did it alone. Carrying everything she needed herself. To prove to herself she could do it.

In March this year, Kate Croucher cycled through Cambodia to raise money and awareness for the Christina Noble Childrens Foundation. She’d not ridden a bike for 35 years. She wanted to disrupt herself and life to see where the chips landed.

This is a casual night of story and conversation. Many of you know these two incredibly warm and generous women, and you are invited to hear and learn about their life changing experiences.

Protecting your business from cyber threats and using your emotional intelligence

ntb_cyber_eq.jpeg

This month, we are covering off to often underrated topics, but essential to managing risks in your business, regardless of size.

Our first session is everything you need to know about protecting yourself in a digitally connected world, and the second session is using your emotional intelligence to lead and guide both yourself, your staff and your customers to a profitable relationship.

SESSION ONE - READY FOR YOUR NEXT STEP TOWARDS A CYBER SECURE BUSINESS?

Ready for your next step towards a cyber secure business?

Small businesses invest a small fortune each year promoting themselves, building their brand and servicing their customers. As each day goes by, increasing amounts of data on businesses products and services, customers, and markets is collected. While this data presents businesses with many new opportunities, new risks are also emerging that need to be managed.

Sadly, many business owners find the cost of securing their data is too high, and effective advice is difficult to come by. Often it’s only once a serious incident has occurred that the true cost of this data is realised, often only after the damage has been done.

Adam Selwood has been helping businesses of all sizes solve problems through the use of technology for over 15 years. As the Co-founder of Cynch Security, he has turn his attention towards the goal of helping Australian businesses avoid and reduce the impact of data breaches.

Recognising that small businesses are woefully unsupported by the cybersecurity industry, the team at Cynch Security are focused on helping these businesses adopt solutions right-sized for the digital risks they face every day.

SESSION TWO - EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE TO MANAGE BUSINESS

Would you like to learn about the two things which allow you to control any situation?

Emotional Intelligence (or EI, and not EQ!) refers to how aware we are of our own and others emotions and how they may impact our thoughts, decisions and behaviour.

Genuinely good business people distinguish themselves through a high degree of emotional intelligence observed through their everyday business transactions.

They seem to be the types of people who are there at the right time, at the right place, they somehow manifest more business, more opportunities and gain a great deal of satisfaction from being in business.

This workshop will strengthen your approach in adapting to an emotionally intelligent strategy to increase your sales target and gain more transactions with your current clients.

  • Explain how to apply EI to your business activity
  • Understand your personal growth and development with EI
  • Measure your personal EI in your current business environment

Felicity Donert, is 20 years in the business of organisational development. She has an extensive background in facilitating workshops and developing pro behaviour and productivity with employees.

Come along and listen to Felicity reveal your own super power that you didn’t even know you had.
